"Tech Journey Chronicles: From Academics to Open Source, Learning and Growing in the World of Technology"

I am Tanay Roy, from Masat, Hooghly. I passed my Madhyamik Examination in the year 2021 from Akuni B.G. Biharilal Institution scoring 95.57% marks. Then I gave my Higher Secondary Examination in 2023 from the same school where I scored 78.2% marks. After that, I gave the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination and got a rank of 8280. After that, I got a chance to get admitted to B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. Then I started my Tech Journey.

Week 1: I started my tech journey in the middle of September. In my college, I made many new friends, who encouraged me to start my journey. They suggested me to make a roadmap for my future. Following their suggestion, I made a basic roadmap for me. I had some interest in coding. So, I started learning the C language from a YouTube channel named “Apna College”.

Week 2: I completed this course at the end of this week.

Week 3: In this week, we got familiar with two of our seniors, Arindam Majumder Dada and Swapnoneel Saha Dada. They guided us in many ways to develop our skills by taking weekly Google Meet Sessions.

Week 4: In this week’s session, we were informed of many things related to Git and Git Hub. We made a Github account this week. We were also informed about how an open-source project is done.

Week 5: Our Google Developer's Student Club offered us an opportunity to enhance our skills in Google Cloud Computing through a course developed by Google. My friends and I eagerly seized this chance and completed the course in just three weeks.

Week 6: We were given various projects. I and some of my friends created a group and started to work and contribute to this project. Then finally I got a chance to contribute to an open source project.

Week 7: I started to learn HTML from a YouTube channel named “Code with Harry”. Parallel to this, I made an account in Leetcode, where I started to solve problems in DSA.

Week 8: This week, I made my Twitter, LinkedIn, and Hash Node accounts. In this week’s session, we got Shivang Shandilya Bhaiya as our speaker. He gave us valuable tips about Google Summer of Code.

Week 9: In this week, I started learning Java from the Youtube channel named “Kunal Kushwaha”. In this week’s session, our seniors informed us about how personal branding is important for us to grow our careers. Our seniors also motivated us to initiate a project, and after some group discussions, we began working on a project that would primarily be constructed using HTML and CSS. The project will aim to guide the student to find their career path themselves.

Week 10: Started learning CSS from the “Code with Harry” YouTube channel. Previously, I had an interest in video editing. So, I started to learn video editing in DaVinci Resolve. I have some plans to do freelancing in the future.

Week 11: In this week, I participated in a session hosted by Keployio, featuring Swapnoneel Da as the speaker. The discussion revolved around API Testing and Keploy. The session covered topics such as understanding APIs, their functioning, the importance of API testing, and an in-depth exploration of Keploy and its associated benefits.

Week 12: As of now, I am following Kunal Khuswaha's Java tutorial playlist on YouTube. Simultaneously, I've been delving into the realm of CSS by closely following the content provided by the "Code with Harry" YouTube channel. This dual-learning approach has allowed me to deepen my understanding of both Java and CSS, shaping a comprehensive foundation for my technical skills. This is my tech journey, which I've been embarking on For the past three months.

My plan for next:

My plans for the next few months are to cover Java language and gain a deep knowledge of it. Simultaneously I want to solve as much as DSA problems as I can. After learning video editing properly, I want to start freelancing.
